However, chickens are not only a valuable part of agriculture but also the favorite pet of many people around the world!
This tutorial is perfect if you also love chickens and want to learn how to draw one!
How to Draw A Chicken
Step 1
To begin this chicken graphic focus, let’s start with something every chicken conditions: a beak!
To add a beak to your chicken design, start with a rounded shape with a slight tip to the left. Once the beak is drawn, we can move on to the next step!
Step 2
With the beak of your finished chicken drawing, you can start drawing a head for it. Start by drawing a long, curved line from the top of the beak.
Then add another curved stripe coming out from beneath. Finally, draw a wavy line between them for a feathery look.
Step 3
We’ll add a wing for the next step in our how-to draw a chicken guide. This wing has curved and wavy lines, as shown in the reference image.
It extends just below the head and neck you drew in the previous step, and the image gives you an idea of how far back it should reach.
Step 4
Chickens have a distinctive body shape; we will try to replicate this at this stage of your chicken drawing.
To draw a body for your chicken, use a few curved lines that extend under the front of the neck and out the back of the wing.
Make sure to leave a wavy shape at the bottom of the body, where we will add the legs later.
Step 5
In this next step of our how-to draw a chicken guide, we’ll add some more distinctive details. First, use a string in its beak to give your chicken a smiling mouth.
Next, use curved lines on your chicken’s back to give it a nice feathered tail!
Finally, we give your chicken a leg design. These consist of curved and straight lines forming the legs and feet as they appear in the image.
The legs will come out of the shapes we left on the chicken’s lower body in the previous step.
Step 6
Your chicken is coming together now! However, it would only look like a chicken with some facial details, so we’ll add those in this step.
You can use a circle inside a slightly larger one to shape the corn. You could change the eye details slightly if you want a different expression!
Then you can use curvy lines to create the wave below the beak and the chicken’s crest above the head. Next up are some final details!
Step 7
When your chicken drawing is almost complete, you must add a few small details to complete the drawing before you continue coloring.
To start, we have some detailing consisting of curved lines throughout the chicken to create a feathered look.
We also added some stripes on the wings and bottom of the chicken for a more feathery surface. Finally, you can use lines on the legs to give them structure!
These details look good, but feel free to add more that you think would be perfect for your drawing!
Step 8
The last step of this how-to draw-a-chicken tutorial is one of their funniest steps!
Your drawing needs beautiful colors to bring it to life, so this is your chance to show us how creative you can be!
We showed you how we would color it for our example, but feel free to use any of your favorite colors!
Will you keep the more realistic colors to make it look like a real chicken, or will you let your imagination run wild and use bright colors to make your chicken more stylish?
The possibilities are endless, and once you’ve picked your colors, all you have to do is decide what fun art tools and mediums to use to complete your artwork!
